HMHF Receives First National Grant
The HMH Foundation received a $50,000 grant from Brave Beginnings to purchase new NICU equipment – a cardiorespiratory monitor that allows the staff to observe all NICU babies at once and also a vein viewer that allows neonatologists to see infants’ tiny veins more clearly. HMH is the first recipient in Kentucky and one of only 78 hospitals across the country to receive a Brave Beginnings grant. Brave Beginnings is a program of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation.
As a young boy in the 1950s, I would ride my bike past the construction site of Hardin Memorial Hospital. That 81-bed hospital is now a comprehensive healthcare system serving 400,000 people across Central Kentucky.
The HMH Foundation invests in breakthrough initiatives to keep HMH strong. In our first year we raised nearly $500,000 for the NICU. With news of two new grants already this year, we are off to a tremendous start!
