Hardin Memorial Hospital was among nine Kentucky hospitals to earn a state-wide Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award.
Healthgrades is a leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals. The award recognizes hospitals that have the lowest occurrence of 13 preventable patient safety events.
Hospitals receiving the award are in the top 10 percent in the nation for patient safety, according to Healthgrades.
HMH Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer Sharon Wright said the recognition is a team effort.
“Patient care and patient safety go hand in hand and are our highest priorities,” she said. “Team members from all HMH departments pay attention to the smallest details and are committed to following the patient safety evidence-based protocols we have in place.”
The Healthgrades recognition comes on the heels of two back-to-back ‘A’ safety ratings from the Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit that evaluates the safety and quality performance of more than 2,600 hospitals nationwide.
