Backyard Classic makes $8,000 donation to HMHF
At today’s quarterly meeting of the HMH Foundation Board of Directors, organizers of the Backyard Classic presented the board with an $8,000 check for HMH Cancer Care. Lori Masterson, a grateful HMH cancer patient and race organizer, was joined by fellow race organizers Damon Barnes and Ben Bryan to present the check – the group’s second donation to HMHF. Sometimes it just takes one snowflake to create an avalanche. Cycling for Cancer Care
Lexington supporters came together to raise money for Hardin Memorial Health Foundation (HMHF) in honor of their friend Shaheen Iqbal-Hayes. Hayes, a Lexington resident, is currently being treated at the HMH Cancer Care Center. She has received overwhelming support from friends and family since her diagnosis. Hans Marsen (1943 – 2017) It is with great sadness that we share the passing of one of our Board of Directors, Hans Marsen, who also served two terms as HMH Auxiliary President. Hans was a fixture across Hardin Memorial Health since he and his wife Gloria moved to Elizabethtown in 2006. His experience with HMH began as a patient. Congratulations to Dr. Bill Nash on 31 years of service with Hardin Memorial Health. Dr. Nash is retiring this year as an orthopedic surgeon practicing at HMH’s Elizabethtown Orthopedics. He graduated from the University of Missouri and received his medical training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1976. This year, Diane Logsdon, HMH Foundation Board Member, received one of the Kentucky Supreme Court’s highest honors - the Chief Justice’s Special Service Award. Chief Justice John D. WHAS Crusade for Children Awards $90,000 Gift to HMH Foundation
WHAS Crusade for Children has awarded Hardin Memorial Health Foundation (HMHF) a $90,000 grant to purchase equipment for the Hardin Memorial Health (HMH) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the only Level II NICU in the 10-county region that HMH serves, and pediatric therapy equipment. The grant will be used to upgrade fetal monitoring technology and purchase a neonatal resuscitation simulator for the NICU.
