Civic Volunteer
Born in Philadelphia to Pakistani immigrants, Tehmina Haider grew up in the small southern Indiana towns of Boonville and Newburgh where her father practiced medicine. She graduated from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
For nearly two decades now, she and her husband, Dr. Kashif Haider, a gastroenterologist at HMH’s Digestive Disease Center, have called Elizabethtown home. In addition to helping manage her husband’s office for 12 years, raising four children and studying to become a Physician Assistant, Tehmina is very active in the community and is especially committed to ensuring our region has the very best healthcare.
“HMH is truly a gem in our community and should be taken care of accordingly,” she said. “My husband always remarks on the level of care provided by every member of the team, and I’ve seen this exemplary service up close as my family has benefitted from that quality care as patients.”
That’s why she’s stepped forward to serve on the HMH Foundation Board of Directors.
“It is truly an honor to serve with this exceptional group of people. I know we will do great things to improve the health of our communities through the foundation’s investments in HMH,” she said.
In addition to her commitment to the HMH Foundation, Tehmina dedicates time and leadership to Elizabethtown Independent Schools through various roles including her work on the Elizabethtown Education Foundation and is a supporter of the Central Kentucky Community Foundation.
