Dr. Tao Le is an internationally recognized medical educator and a physician and partner with Central Allergy and Asthma in Elizabethtown. Dr. Le earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco. He trained in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital and completed an allergy and immunology fellowship and a Masters in Health Sciences at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Le considers HMH to be invaluable to his practice and most especially his patients.
“I take care of a lot of asthma and allergy patients and there’s such an excellent support staff that I know when they leave my office and go to another provider, they will be well cared for in the HMH system,” he said.
Serving on the HMH Foundation Board offers a tremendous opportunity to further improve HMH and the health of our region, he said.
In addition to funding breakthrough initiatives, Dr. Le said that the HMH Foundation has an important role in education and advocacy for HMH.
“So much of what the team at HMH does goes unnoticed and unrecognized,” he said. “People need to understand there is a tremendous work of value being created here in our local community and they deserve our support and help.”
In addition to his work at Central Allergy and Asthma, Dr. Le is section chief of allergy and immunology in the University of Louisville Department of Medicine, where he pursues his interests in asthma and medical education research. He was a co-founder and Chief Medical Officer for Medsn, a medical communications technology company servicing Fortune 500 pharmaceutical and device companies. He is currently CEO of MedIQ Learning, an e-learning company for the medical sciences. He serves on the boards of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
