Mimi Hornback and her husband, Lamonte, have called Elizabethtown home for more than 50 years. Born in Beijing, China, Mimi is a graduate of Nan-Chung High School in Taipei, Taiwan. She later became a U.S. Citizen with further studies at Elizabethtown Community College and the Institute of Financial in Chicago.
She worked as a special services administrator for First Federal Savings Bank. In March of 1987, Mimi became a Real Estate Agent, and opened Hornback Realty Company with her husband.
Over the years, Mimi has proudly watched Hardin Memorial Health become an integral part of the region. But in the past decade, HMH unexpectedly became a much larger part of her life as her husband faced serious illness. It was the quality of care she received that has inspired her to support the HMH Foundation.
“At HMH, the level of care and the staff were just superior,” she said. “And that took a difficult time and turned it into a wonderful experience. So I thought it’s time to give back.”
And by doing so, Mimi’s service on the HMH Foundation Board will help provide funding for breakthrough projects to continue to build upon the level of already great at HMH.
“HMH provides good care for this region, and it’s very important that we support it in any way we can,” she said.
