Bardstown
Civic Volunteer
Mary “Lee” O’Malley has lived in Bardstown for more than 40 years. During that time, her penchant for community involvement has had an incredible impact on the hundreds, if not thousands, of lives she’s touched.
From her active involvement in local schools to serving at her church, St. Joseph Basilica, to co-chairing the local chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Lee leads by example. Lee was also instrumental in establishing hospice in Nelson County and is an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Lee seeks out opportunities and supports activities that have the greatest impact on families in Nelson County and the surrounding region.
That’s why she chose to serve on the HMH Foundation Board. HMH is her local healthcare provider and she is passionate about making sure the only comprehensive healthcare system dedicated to this region stays strong.
Lee’s describes the care she and her late husband, Bob, have received at HMH as second to none. She calls HMH a tremendous regional asset deserving of support.
“Thousands of people throughout this region use HMH’s wide range of services,” she said. “HMH is vital to the area.”
Lee says the foundation’s work to secure funding for state of the art equipment will raise the level of care even higher at HMH.
“It is so important that these amazingly talented physicians have the very best and most innovative equipment to treat their patients,” she said.
