Knight’s Mechanical
A lifelong Hardin County resident, John Hardy Knight firmly believes in the importance of local healthcare in a thriving community.
“We are lucky to have a healthcare system of the caliber of HMH,” Knight said. “It is so remarkable to have this incredible resource conveniently located right here in our backyard.”
Knight and his wife Elaine know firsthand the importance of having first-in-class healthcare. Their two children were born at HMH, and his son needed emergency surgery for a collapsed lung within the first few days of his birth.
“We were so fortunate to have the very best doctors and nurses right here in our own community caring for our son,” Knight said. “They recognized what he needed and helped him immediately.”
In 1980, Knight and his wife founded Knight’s Mechanical, a business that has grown and successfully served the Hardin County area for nearly four decades. With a strong belief in giving back, Knight has shown stalwart support of community organizations.
HMH Foundation’s vision to dramatically improve health in the communities it serves drives Knight to serve on the HMH Foundation, he said.
“HMH is important to our local economy and the Foundation’s work is essential to keep HMH strong,” said Knight, who was raised in the Sonora/Upton area. “I’m proud to join this Board because I love this community.”
A graduate of East Hardin High School, Knight has earned state and national industry recognition and serves on industry boards. He is also a longtime youth sports referee and a member of the 5th Region Referee Hall of Fame. He serves as an elder and a deacon at Glendale Christian Church.
