Elizabethtown
Hardin County Attorney
Jenny Oldham, an Elizabethtown native, graduated cum laude from Centre College and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville. She began her career in public service as Assistant Hardin County Attorney and was elected Hardin County Attorney in 2011.
Not only was she born at HMH, but the team there has cared for her parents and her children. Jenny recognizes the importance of having cutting edge technology and first-in-class physicians right here in our region.
She said the hospital wasn’t established some 60 years ago by accident. It happened because there was a community commitment to have healthcare available close to home. That’s why she is serving on the HMH Foundation.
“Sometimes I think we take HMH for granted,” she said. “Having to drive an hour for emergency care could certainly change the outcome. The foundation is carrying on the legacy of those community leaders from 60 years ago.”
Jenny has also held board positions for the Kentucky County Attorney’s Association, ECTC Criminal Justice Program Advisory Board, Sunrise Children’s Services, Hardin County Bar Association, Hardin County Crime Stoppers and the Advocacy and Support Center. Jenny teaches Sunday school and is a trustee at Severns Valley Baptist Church.
Among her awards and accolades are Mothers Against Drunk Driving Outstanding Service Award, Big Brothers/Big Sisters “Big Sister of the Year” and the 2013 Kentucky Attorney General Outstanding County Attorney Award.
She and her husband Dennis live in Elizabethtown and enjoy traveling with their children and grandchildren.
