President & CEO
Hardin Memorial Health
Dennis Johnson is President and CEO of Hardin Memorial Health. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration. He joined Baptist Health in 1990 as an Administrative Resident and has been promoted to several executive roles, including Vice President at Baptist Health Lexington and Administrator at Baptist Health LaGrange.
Dennis has been at the helm of HMH since 2011, and during his tenure the HMH physician enterprise has grown from 17 locations to almost 50 and a new Cancer Care Center opened as well as HMH’s North Tower, which has more than 50 private rooms. Dennis gives the credit to the entire HMH team and touts the unmatched level of care they provide. He says everyone who enters the doors of an HMH facility is treated like family.
“HMH is more than just a place to work,” he said. “It’s a family.”
Dennis said this caring nature is characteristic of the entire community. That includes the HMH Foundation Board of Directors.
“It is an extraordinary group of people dedicated to pursing investments for HMH. At a time when most hospitals are fighting for their very existence, an active foundation is essential.”
Dennis is also the previous past chair of the Kentucky Hospital Association. He and his wife Tracy have three children.
